How to Prevent a Water Damage in Your Home or Office

cracked toilet tank, How to prevent a water damage
Having a water damage situation in your home or office is very unsettling, not to mention it can be expensive.  Here is a few tips on preventing this from happening in the first place.

First, change things like washing machine hoses, toilet supply lines, and ice maker lines every 5 years and inspect them on a yearly basis to make sure you do not have any premature failure.  Next, if you have something happen similar to the photo on the right where a toilet tank cracks, make sure to do a proper repair on the tank.  Filling the crack with caulk is not considered a proper repair.  If this happens have the tank / toilet replaced.

Following a few simple steps may help you to prevent thousands of dollars of damage to your property later.
